Purpose, boundary, and known limitations

Operational boundary

This tool is a private, AI-assisted personal workflow helper for the owner, family members,
and a small number of trusted friends. It is NOT an autonomous tax practice and does NOT
replace a CPA, Enrolled Agent, attorney, or commercial tax software.

It never files, signs, transmits, amends, or approves returns; never makes elections;
never contacts tax authorities; never guarantees outcomes; and never assists with evasion
or fabricated records. All material conclusions are PRELIMINARY — HUMAN REVIEW REQUIRED.

Known limitations

  • Does not file, e-sign, or transmit returns to IRS or Iowa DOR.
  • Does not replace commercial tax software or a paid preparer.
  • AI research uses SpaceXAI/xAI when configured; otherwise a safe mock (no invented rates).
  • Document OCR/full extraction is minimal; extend as needed.
  • Mileage rates are never permanently hard-coded; look them up per period.
  • SQLite local-first storage on the server disk (back up regularly).
